Yesterday was an amazing day!
I was alerted to the fact that an interview I’d done with NPR/WAMU was on the air! I was so excited that I recorded it! The interview was done at the 11-year Anniversary show (2.0) of the DC Kings at Phase 1 on March 13.
So exciting!
Surrounding that was a nice long work day, which means? Money. That evening was *Private* Show (2nd edition) also at Phase 1. We had, possibly, the best show ever! The bar was PACKED, the performers were on point, and we really had a night to be remembered.
Three new performers graced the stage: Gigi Holliday from Sticky Buns Burlesque, Bunny Vicious, from Baltimore, and MAB just MAB, from Cheeky Monkey Sideshow all popped their Phase 1 cherries with very entertaining numbers!
But let’s not overlook the sexiness of Ken Vegas as he performs a Prince number as a pilot with guest star Belladonna as a passenger as the opening act which set the tone for the entire show!
We also had Duncan Deeply performing a solo number where SHE undressed into a skimpy lingerie set from her suit. Belladonna graced the stage a second time performing her first veil number at Phase 1. Following that was the sexy crooner Rocky who plead for his lady to stay with guest star Private Tails. Then there was Zak Las Vegas with a cute depiction of Soul Sister where he opened the number actually playing his own ukelele!
How do you follow that? Well, with Velvet Kensington and her classic Buttons number. She ended her number the only way you can: with a pushing of her Staples Easy Button that’s strategically placed on her crotch as she takes the mic (puts it up to her crotch so you can hear it say “That was easy”)!
Then Miss Lola Rose got to wear her ruffled black and red panties, red tutu, and red point shoes as she portrayed the figure in a music box! She looked absolutely perfect.
How the hell do you end a show like that?
With me doing Free Your Mind by En Vogue! I grabbed all my guts and attempted a handstand to split combo–WHICH WAS SUCCESSFUL!
The show was unforgettable and I cannot wait for April!
